B&B Joie de Vivre

A B&B in a historic half-timbered house in the middle of the picturesque village of Sint Pieters-Voeren surrounded by nature in Belgium

Welcome in our B&B

In the picturesque village of Sint-Pieters-Voeren (Belgium), in the middle of a romantic the hilly countryside, you are very welcome in our cozy and authentic B&B “Joie de Vivre”. The tiny village with barely 400 inhabitants is located in the countryside and only a 20-minute drive from the city Maastricht, Valkenburg, Liège, and Aachen.

In the immediate vicinity there are plenty of opportunities for beautiful walks or bike rides, and you will find numerous cafes and restaurants. Both in the patio, under the fruit trees in front of the house and in the orchard, you can relax with a book or simply enjoy the peaceful environment and the view. In the right season, there are plenty of apples, pears, plums, cherries or walnuts in the orchard behind the house.

Next to the hall is the toilet and a separate bathroom with shower and washbasin. We have 2 bedrooms, each with a double bed and wardrobe. One of the bedrooms is on the ground floor and the second bedroom on the first floor.

        Half-timbered house

The house was built in 1724 in a half-timbered style that is typical of this region, with a facade of flintstones from the area. After a thorough restoration, it has been equipped with all modern conveniences, while retaining its original character. The B&B's sitting- and bedroom have a characteristic vaulted ceiling. The original stable door that opens onto the patio has a large insulated glass wall and gives access to the hall in which a lounge area has been created. In the cold months a cozy, pellet stove burns here to warm you.

        About us

The name of our B&B “Joie de Vivre” means “pleasure of life”, and that is exactly what we want to stand for with our B&B: enjoy a few wonderful relaxing days in which you can be part of an environment where it seems time has stood still for a while, in the home of people who enjoy receiving guests in a personal way.

Since 2015, we are living in this monumental building, which we came across by chance during one of our walks in the region. The beautiful and above all quiet environment makes it possible for us to come home to an oasis of peace after the hectic pace of a busy working day, to enjoy life. This "Joie de Vivre" feeling is a perfect match for our Burgundian genetics and is exactly what we want to share with our guests. We want to distinguish ourselves by establishing the original concept of a B&B: no overnight stay in an impersonal hotel, but a warm welcome in a friendly farmhouse.

Have you become curious? Then come by, we will receive you hospitably and hopefully be able to give you a bit of “Joie de Vivre”.

        Friendly regards,

        Trudy and Theo
